Job Title: Network Administrator

Description:
ImmunoGen, Inc. is in search of a highly motivated, team player to join our Information Technology department. This is a dynamic, hands-on opportunity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs systems administration functions for the organizations multiple servers, including administering system-level security procedures; establishes and maintains user accounts, assigns file permissions and establishes password and account policies
  • Provide hands-on technical support to end-users
  • Installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production environment
  • Reviews performance logs and monitors system performance; troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software and communications problems
  • Performs automated and manual backup and restore processes
  • Performs network administration functions for the organization's interoperating LAN/WAN, including the maintenance of network functionality and the installation, upgrade, configuration, integration and troubleshooting of network software and network devices
  • Fine-tunes hardware and software to optimize network performance and functionality; administers the firewall; administers network security
  • Establishes and maintains documentation of the network and systems architecture, operating systems software
  • Evaluates new operating system and/or network software, hardware, methods and techniques to improve systems/network reliability and performance
  • Plans and coordinates migration to new technologies
  • Job Requirements:

  • Experience with configuration, deployment, and administration of Intel-based server hardware
  • Possess a solid fundamental understanding of MS Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP, Microsoft Active Directory Services (including AD components such as security/distribution groups, group policies, etc), DNS, and DHCP
  • Microsoft certification credentials and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) are a plus
  • Experience working at a biotech company a plus
  • Hands-on experience with administration of MS Exchange 2003
  • Creative technical problem solving abilities
  • The ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects and/or tasks
  • Experience working with VMware a plus
  • Experience working with CISCO Call Manager a plus
  • Must be willing to work after-hours and weekends as needed, this does not happen often but is the nature of the position
