Job Title: Medical Director
Description:
ImmunoGen, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company that develops targeted anticancer therapeutics, is seeking a Medical Director to contribute to the growth of a new and expanding clinical group at ImmunoGen, Inc. Reporting to the Vice President, Clinical Development, the Medical Director will provide leadership and expertise in the company’s clinical studies of novel therapeutics in oncology. Current Phase I and II clinical studies are underway for proprietary products that target CD56-positive and integrin expressing tumors, respectively.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide clinical expertise and leadership in our clinical development programs (preclinical and clinical)
- Design and draft protocol synopses, protocols and protocol amendments in concert with a consultant statistician: review protocols with VP Clin Dev and Clin Dev group
- Manage studies with regard to scientific issues, clinical issues and safety monitoring
- Provide leadership on clinical project teams; interacting with investigators/physicians and clinical advisors
- Provide strategic guidance for compounds and devise clinical development strategies
- Participate in the assessment of novel therapeutics agents
- Provide medical expertise as needed for partnered products
- Provide medical and scientific expertise to preclinical discovery groups for compounds that are in preclinical development
Job Requirements:
- MD with expertise in oncology
- Industry experience in oncology drug development
- Strong communication skills to facilitate exchanges within clinical group and with scientists to guide the transition of compounds from preclinical stage to first in-human studies
- Willing to travel (domestic & international) to oversee ongoing trials, initiate new sites, meet with investigators, attend conferences and participate in advisory boards. May include weekend travel.
