This TAP compound consists of our DM4 cell-killing agent attached to an integrin-targeting antibody that was developed by Centocor.

IMGN388's target occurs on many types of solid tumors and also on vascular endothelial cells in the process of forming new blood vessels (angiogenesis). Angiogenesis is needed for a tumor to grow. In preclinical testing, IMGN388 has been shown to attack tumors in two ways: by directly killing the cancer cells and by preventing the formation of the blood vessels the tumor needs for nourishment.

The first IMGN388 clinical data were reported at ASCO in June 2010. The compound was found to show favorable tolerability and evidence of activity, as summarized in the issued press release.
